Charity Disc Golf Championship

Last year’s Charity Disc Golf Championships, a focused project of the Leadership Tompkins program, raised support that enabled our organizations to achieve great results not possible without vital community support. This year’s Tompkins County Charity Disc Golf Championship will take place at the new disc golf course on the TC3 campus in Dryden on Saturday, September 9. We hope we can count on your support and participation.
Your previous support raised $1600.00 and helped the One to One Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ithaca and Tompkins County program. One-to-One Big Brothers Big Sisters is a program of the Ithaca Youth Bureau that works to match youth aged 6-14 with trained, caring adult mentors in a friendship capacity. Your contribution helped us reach our goal of providing professionally supervised matches for over 160 youth.
Your support also helped the local disc golf effort, DiscIthaca, grow considerably in the past year:
- Permanent course installed at TC3
- Creation of DiscIthaca.com, our club website
- Pilot courses installed at Cornell University and Belle Sherman Elementary
- Award of the NY Disc Golf State Championships for 2006
Any organization can field a team and compete for the county title for a tax-deductible donation of $200 or support a youth team comprised of Big Brothers/Big Sisters members for $100. Each competitor will receive lunch and a custom golf disc (which can be used to play for the day). Fielded teams that do not contain active DiscIthaca members will be matched with an experience player who will coach them through the round. A registration form is included. Each supporting organization will have a dedicated tee sign for all to see as they play in the event.
